Mary John is a partner practicing in the areas of estate planning, probate and business law. She also handles real estate matters and provides litigation support, particularly in the firm’sappellate matters. Her experience includes:
Preparing estate planning documents to meet each client’s individual needs, from the simple to the complex, including wills, revocable trusts, powers of attorney, marital property agreements, life insurance trusts, charitable remainder trusts and special needs trusts
Creating and implementing asset-protection plans for clients planning for possible nursing home care
Guiding families through probate or trust administration after the death of a loved one
Setting up business entities, including LLCs, LLPs and Corporations
Negotiating and preparing buy-sell agreements, asset purchase agreements, employment contracts, licensing agreements, non-compete agreements and other contracts for business owners
Sales and acquisitions of businesses, ranging from small local businesses to the U.S. subsidiary of an international company
Negotiating and preparing residential and commercial offers to purchase, land contracts, leases and other real-estate related documents
Successful briefing of appellate issues before the Wisconsin Court of Appeals and Wisconsin Supreme Court
