Matthew A Walker
Walker Law, LLP
Matthew Walker grew up in Cheyenne with his six siblings. During his youth, he loved tinkering with electronics which led to his current interest and aptitude in the areas where technology and the law intersect, particularly with blockchains, DeFi, and DAOs. He attended the University of Wyoming for both his undergraduate degree and law degree. While in law school, Matthew acted as the Managing Editor of the Wyoming Law Review, where he put in hundreds of hours ensuring the quality of the articles and worked hard to make current and past copies of the journal available for free online.
Matthew graduated from Law School in 2016, moved to Torrington, Wyoming, and worked as the Honorable Judge Korell’s Law Clerk for three years. As a clerk, he familiarized himself with the courts of Wyoming and gained an appreciation for the difficulty a non-lawyer has in finding justice in and out of the court system. He understands how difficult it is to navigate the courts, especially when the reasons people go to court are usually emotionally difficult. This realization helps Matthew to seek out the best results for his clients through communication and diligence. Helping alleviate the problems inherent in legal issues motivates Matthew to utilize his training so that his clients can find peaceful resolutions to their problems.
After finishing his term as a clerk, Matthew moved his family to Casper where he worked primarily on personal injury cases. He also helped provide for the community by providing pro bono legal counseling to families with limited means. After less than a year of private practice, he placed third in the attorney category of Casper Star-Tribune's 2020 Best of Wyoming competition.
Matthew moved back home to Cheyenne in late 2020 to be closer to family and joined with Olsen Legal Group where he provided various legal services. He married his wonderful wife Rachel in 2023 and took the opportunity to join his dad and brother at Walker Law in 2024.

- Q. I have filed an appeal to a divorce case. Is the decision suspended until the appeal is settled?
- A: Even pending appeal, a District Court's decision remains in effect unless there is some type of restraining order or injunction which would stay the order. The process is difficult to navigate, so I would reach out to a reputable family lawyer or appeal lawyer to assist you in understanding your rights while your appeal is pending.
