Matthew DeBoard

Matt DeBoard is a Senior Partner with Barrister Law Firm. Raised in the Orlando area, Mr. DeBoard earned his high school degree from Oak Ridge High School and later went on to American University in Washington, D.C. where he completed a double-major curriculum in both Physics and Communications. Mr. DeBoard earned his law degree from Florida A&M University College of Law in Orlando, where he achieved the highest grade of anyone in his class in both his Constitutional Law II and Trademark Seminar law classes.
Mr. DeBoard has decades of experience in both the real estate and mortgage businesses. Prior to his law career, Mr. DeBoard owned real estate brokerage and mortgage lending firms – managing dozens of employees – and has been an integral part of several hundred real estate-related transactions. He has also logged hundreds of closings as part-owner of a title insurance agency.
In addition to his work involving closing real estate transactions for others, Matt also rolled up his sleeves and personally participated in remodeling dozens of residential properties. Today, Mr. DeBoard devotes much of his practice to real estate law, probate matters involving wills, trust, and estate matters, and civil litigation in the area of business law, contract disputes, and commercial disputes. Mr. DeBoard enjoys staying involved in the legal community, including actively participating in Orange County Bar Association events.
In addition to his legal work, Matt enjoys many of the perks of Florida living, including water skiing, scuba diving, and tennis. He has traveled extensively throughout Mexico and has visited Thailand, Costa Rica, and many countries throughout Europe.
