A veteran Bankruptcy attorney, Maurice "Mac" VerStandig is widely regarded as a go-to lawyer for both creditor and debtor insolvency cases in the Washington, DC area. He has counseled consumers in their own personal bankruptcy cases, been called upon to act as reorganization counsel for companies ranging from law firms to manufacturers, and has recovered tens of millions of dollars for secured lending clients when their collateral has been jeopardized by chapter 11 filings.
A native Washingtonian, Mac began his career working for a federal bankruptcy judge, clerking for a judge in Montgomery County, and then joining one of the largest law firms in the Mid Atlantic. Over time, he has earned a reputation as an aggressive-but-pragmatic attorney, carefully putting his experience to work for his various clients.
