I was born in Monterrey, Mexico, but Houston has been my home for as long as I can remember. I grew up in southeast Houston, and life has taken me to live in every corner of our city.
I attended Texas Tech University for my undergraduate studies, and I made it my goal to attend some of the nation's top law schools to receive the best legal education possible. I achieved this by attending Cornell Law School and The University of Texas School of Law for my law degree. During my time in law school, I discovered my passion for being a voice for those facing the loss of their liberty by defending individuals accused of crimes, including death row inmates. I served as an intern in Texas Courts at every level, including the 14th Court of Appeals and Texas' highest criminal court, the Court of Criminal Appeals.
I am a former chief prosecutor and public defender with vast experience, having handled thousands of misdemeanor and felony criminal cases. I am persistent, professional, and dedicated to fighting for my clients. If you want an attorney with experience, integrity, and proven results, put Vazquez Law in your corner today!

- Q. Friend wrongly arrested due to name confusion; steps for resolution sought.
- A: Your friend should not try to get this resolved on their own. Even if it seems like a simple issue, a lot of times it is not. It would be best for them to retain an attorney or ask the court to appoint them an attorney if they cannot afford one. They can search for one on this site or google criminal defense attorneys in their area.
As far as your name being in the report, it's likely not being removed. Without more context, it is hard to say whether it is worth worrying about or not. If you are listed as a co-conspirator, that is an issue you should seek legal assistance for. If you are not a person of interest, but someone who may be able to provide contact information, for example, ... Read More
- Q. What can I do about my court-appointed attorney not providing fair representation in a Texas felony case?
- A: Unfortunately, while you have the right to a court-appointed lawyer if you cannot afford one, you are not entitled to the court-appointed attorney of your choice, just a competent lawyer. So the court does not have to appoint you a different lawyer. You are also not entitled to have a lawyer that is chained to his desk. It appears you may have had money to retain an attorney initially. If that is still the case, I would suggest reaching out to criminal defense attorneys in your area for private representation, and letting them know your expectations of them. Like you said, your charges are very serious, and while it may be financially uncomfortable to shell out money for a lawyer, it may be well ... Read More
