Micah F. McBride
Shumway VanMicah McBride is licensed to practice law in Texas and Utah and has been admitted to practice in the Supreme Court of Utah, the Supreme Court of Texas, the Federal District Court for the Western District of Texas and the Federal District Court for the District of Utah. Mr. McBride’s practice is focused on corporate law where he engages in a wide variety of business transactions including drafting and negotiating contracts, winding down, business formation, secured transactions, and other commercial transactions. Mr. McBride also dedicates a significant portion of his practice to counseling a variety of businesses ranging from new technology start-ups to established multi-million dollar corporations. Mr. McBride also has extensive litigation experience in both state and federal courts. He has represented clients in a variety of lawsuits, involving breach of contract, business torts (such as fraud, negligence, breach of fiduciary duty, tortious interference), construction disputes, intellectual property infringement, and wrongful liens. Other areas in which Mr. McBride has experience include international law, medical malpractice defense, insurance defense, personal injury, employment law, immigration law, real property, acquisitions, real property disputes, contract disputes, secured transactions, family law, criminal law, landlord-tenant, construction law, start-up law, oil and gas law, entertainment law, trusts, wills and estates, and alternative dispute resolution. Mr. McBride is a graduate of the J. Reuben Clark Law School at Brigham Young University, where he served as a member of the moot court board and vice magister of the Phi Delta Phi Sutherland Inn. While in law school, he participated in an externship at JP O’Farrell Abogados in Buenos Aires, Argentina where he became familiar with South American legal systems and international business transactions.
