Michael Araj
Michael Araj has more than a decade of family law experience to draw from, including right here in Central Texas. Michael is ready to go to court to fight for his clients whenever the need arises but understands that the best path for many will be the path that resolves his clients’ disputes in negotiation, mediation, and settlement.
Michael has handled high-asset divorce cases and complex and conflict-driven issues in all types of family law cases. He has successfully negotiated and tried cases involving complex assets. He has addressed cases involving the division of restricted stock, as well as family businesses that include partnerships, corporations, sole proprietorships, and other business entities in divorce.
Michael is comfortable and capable in court and has extensive first and second-chair trial experience.
Michael is adept in the preparation and negotiation of marital property agreements, including prenuptial agreements, and handles divorce cases that involve the interpretation and enforcement of marital property agreements.
Michael is also a certified Mediator. In this role, he assists parties reach voluntary agreements to settle their family law matters, from divorce to child custody issues.
Michael has had the privilege of serving as guardian ad litem in his native state of Virginia, which means that he was appointed by the court to represent children in particular cases and to fight for their best interests. Michael has drawn on that experience to assist clients in difficult and high-conflict custody cases to obtain successful outcomes for his clients, which have included parents as well as grandparents.
Michael is a native of Virginia. He attended the College of William and Mary in Virginia, where he graduated with a B.A. in Economics as well as in Government. Michael attended the Creighton School of Law in Omaha, Nebraska, and distinguished himself there in litigation. He now makes his home in Central Texas.
