Biography

Michael E. Lonich is the managing partner of Lonich & Patton and has nearly 30 years of experience representing a wide range of businesses and individuals. His practice concentrates on Estate Planning, Business Law and divorce mediation. Mike draws upon his expertise and the firm's resources to partner with individuals and families to develop comprehensive estate plans and successfully represent clients in trust administration and probate litigation. From the creation of a simple will to a complex trust, family limited liability partnership or business succession plan, maximizing financial benefits as well as ensuring the peace of mind that an estate plan brings to an individual or family is always Mike's goal. Whether a client needs revisions to current documents (will, trust, power of attorney, health care directive POD accounts, etc) or has no plan in place, Mike is prepared to help clients create a comprehensive estate plan that suits their needs and concerns.

Assisting businesses and individuals with business transactions and agreements, corporate formation and governance, incentive programs (equity and non-equity) and litigated matters has always been a part of Mike's practice. Skills honed helping clients in the early eighties navigate the increasingly complex areas of corporate regulations, consumer and labor laws have been invaluable in preparing for the more recent handling of shareholder derivative suits and takeover attempts.

The firm's Family Law practice utilizes Mike's litigation expertise to mediate divorces and complex family issues. After serving many years as an advocate in litigation matters, he enjoys the collaborative effort to resolve cases involving divorce, child support, child custody, spousal support and property rights. The secret in any area of family law mediation is the ability of the participants to come together and work toward a solution in a collaborative and positive environment.
