Michael Gray
Helping construction contractors successfully navigate the legal system
Mike graduated from San Luis Obispo High School. After high school he left San Luis for Southern California to pursue his education and legal carrier.
Mike spent most of his career as a partner at two large Southern California construction law firms. In 2014, he decided to switch from the large firm to the medium size construction law firm of Plumtree & Associates. This allowed Mike to develop a more one on one relationship with his construction contractor clients– something that is difficult to achieve at a big law firm.
In 2015 Mike decided it was time to return to his Central Coast roots and open Plumtree & Associates’ San Luis Obispo Office.
Professional Experience
Mike has over 20 years of experience representing design professionals, general contractors, subcontractors, and material suppliers with mechanics liens/stop notices, CSLB license defense and breach of construction contract cases.
Practice Areas

- American Society of Legal Writers
- Since 1996, Scribes has presented an annual award for the best student-written brief. We believe that legal writing is of paramount importance to law students and their careers, and we hope to encourage good legal writing by recognizing its finest examples. Scribes presents the award to the authors at the annual luncheon. Scribes opens the competition in late spring, and it receives submissions until August. Once Scribes receives all submissions, they are judge by professors, judges, and practicing attorneys. The top 15 to 20 briefs then go to the Brief-Writing-Award Committee. It reads the briefs, deliberates, and choose the top three briefs.
