Michael J Boxerman
I have been practicing law since 1995. I am experienced in resolving franchise, business and corporate, partnership, employment, real estate and related disputes in state and federal courts and in arbitration and mediation. I earned my B.A. in political science from Northwestern University and my J.D. from Washington University School of Law in St. Louis, Missouri, where I was a member of the Washington University Law Quarterly and recipient of the Gerald K. Presberg Scholar in Law Award. I am co-author of “Franchise Renewals: Considerations for Franchisors and Franchisees,” 19 Franchise Law Journal 2 (Fall 1999). I was a speaker at the Chicago Bar Association’s 2008 “Fundamentals of Franchising”; the ABA’s 2009 Forum on Franchising, where I was a co-speaker on the topic “Recent Trends in Litigating Non-Competition Agreements”; and the ABA’s 2011 Forum on Franchising, where I was a co-speaker on the topic “The Fight Over Where to Fight: Removal, Transfer Of Venue and Compelling Arbitration." I am admitted to practice in the states of Illinois and Missouri. I am a member of the Trial Bar of the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois and am admitted to practice before the United States Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit. I am a member of the American Bar Association and its Forum on Franchising and the Chicago Bar Association. I have a Martindale-Hubbell AV Peer Review Rating.
