Attorney Smith is a strong advocate for the rights of injured and disabled. He possesses over 20 years of legal experience. After graduating with honors from Boston University School of Business Management, he started his career as a workers compensation claims adjuster.
Attorney Smith soon realized he could accomplish more in his career if he earned a Law Degree. He decided to attend Suffolk University Law School on Beacon Hill, Boston, MA. Soon after graduation, he worked briefly at a prestigious Insurance Defense Firm in Boston, Massachusetts. He quickly realized he did not want to represent big insurance companies and employers against the working class.
Attorney Smith then took his talents to Lowell, Massachusetts and practiced law at one of the largest plaintiff oriented law firms in Merrimack Valley. It was there he determined it was his calling to represent the less fortunate and pursue injury and disability claims on behalf of clients and their families. After handling personal Injury, disability and workers compensation matters for over a decade in Lowell, he was offered an opportunity to work at one of the largest plaintiff personal injury firms in the State of Massachusetts. While at this firm in Boston, he handled countless workers compensation and third party claims on behalf of his clients.
After working at a large specialty plaintiff personal injury law firm, he decided he could properly serve the needs of his clients if he stated his own law firm. Attorney Smith is the founder of the Mass Injury Group. His firm represents hundreds of clients across the state of Massachusetts. His firm specializes in handling all types of injury claims including motor vehicle and pedestrian accidents, wrongful death claims, negligence claims, premises liability cases, workers compensation injuries and social security disability matters.
Attorney Michael O. Smith has handled countless jury and non-jury trials.

- Q. in MVA 11/5/19. other driver at fault. I have life changing injuries in excess of $10k. My atty never updates me.
- A: I agree with the other two answers. You should ask your attorney for an in person meeting to review your claim in depth and figure out the issues with your outstanding medical bills. You should also have a talk with your attorney regarding the potential value of your case. Another important question for your attorney is to determine what insurance coverages there are to compensate you. If your attorney is not communicating with you, then it is time to look for another attorney. Find an experienced attorney who handles motor vehicle accident law. Most will offer a free consultation and work on contingent fee.
- Q. I was in a car accident in WI and it was not my fault (truck driver was cited). My insurance and license is in MA.
- A: It sounds like you need an experienced personal injury attorney to help you. It is unclear from your question on which state the accident occurred in. You will most likely be covered by the laws of the state where the accident occurred. I strongly suggest you speak with an experienced personal injury attorney that specializes in motor vehicle injury law in the state where the crash happened. Most of us offer free consultations. Best of luck
- Q. Missed preeclampsia diagnosis, stillbirth, and eclampsia, do I have a case?
- A: I am sorry to hear about your unfortunate medical situation. In order to have a medical malpractice claim, you will need to show the doctors or medical staff deviated from the standard level of medical care in your area and that deviation caused your medical conditions. You will need to have another doctor (the expert) make a written opinion that the medical providers handled your care incorrectly and their mistake caused your injuries. I suggest you contact an experienced personal injury lawyer. Most attorneys including myself offer free consultations.
