Michael V. Galo Jr. focuses his legal practice on federal and state employment and labor law, covering a wide array of areas. With a keen interest in matters concerning the Americans with Disabilities Act, the Texas Workers’ Compensation Act, and the Family and Medical Leave Act, Mr. Galo brings extensive experience to these domains. Additionally, he has a robust background representing management in issues relating to the National Labor Relations Act, including tasks such as union-organizing campaigns, collective bargaining, and union arbitrations.
Throughout his career spanning twenty-five years, Mr. Galo has navigated numerous cases involving non-competition agreements, confidentiality covenants, and the safeguarding of trade secrets under both state and federal jurisdictions. He boasts significant jury trial experience, successfully litigating various employment discrimination and retaliation cases to verdict in both state and federal courts. Moreover, Mr. Galo maintains an active appellate practice, serving as lead counsel in 16 employment cases before the U.S. and Texas Courts of Appeals, with nine of these cases proceeding to oral argument.
Among his notable achievements are cases such as Kanida v. Nursefinders, Pineda v. United Parcel Service, Inc., Qualls v. Lack’s Stores, Inc., Rodriguez v. Roadway Express, Inc., and Rook v. Xerox Corp., among others, where he played pivotal roles in shaping legal precedents and securing favorable outcomes for his clients.
Outside of his legal practice, Mr. Galo is a sought-after speaker at human resources and continuing legal education seminars. He hails from Laredo, Texas, where much of his family resides, and is fluent in Spanish. Mr. Galo, married to Blanca Pellegrin Galo, maintains an active legal practice across Central and South Texas.
