Legal Answers
Q. Accused of verbal threat at school, facing court with no evidence.
A: The short answer is yes, you should have legal representation anytime you go to court or are accused of a crime. Based upon the facts you have set out, there seems to be a good probability that you will prevail. The witnesses to the alleged incident will play a large role in how this case proceeds forward.
Q. What should I do after receiving a notice for a magistrate's hearing for assault and battery in MA?
A: Your next step should be to consult with an attorney in order to prepare for the clerk magistrate hearing. This is a very important step in the case. If you can convince the clerk magistrate not to issue the complaint against you, then the matter is dismissed and you will never be formally charged with a criminal offense.
Q. Can my 19-year-old brother drive me to the dispensary with cannabis in the car in MA?
A: As you have a medical card, the law indicates that you may have it in your vehicle as long as it remains sealed and is in compliance with all other governmental requirements.
