Paige J. Alderson
Paige Alderson is senior counsel at Grant & Eisenhofer where she focuses her practice on complex pharmaceutical and medical device litigation as well as sexual assault and retaliation claims. Ms. Alderson is a zealous advocate for the rights of individuals and families harmed by large corporations as well as survivors of sexual assault, discrimination and harassment.
Ms. Alderson has represented thousands of injured victims in nationally coordinated litigations against major pharmaceutical companies. Sample matters include:
- Gilead Tenofovir Cases (JCCP No. 5043), representing members of the HIV community injured by Gilead Sciences, Inc.’s negligent design of tenofovir-based antiretroviral medications;
- Baby Formula Cases, representing infants and their families injured by Mead Johnson and Abbott Laboratories’ failure to warn that their cow’s milk-based formulas can cause serious injury and even death when fed to pre-term babies;
- In re: Philips Recalled CPAP, Bi-Level PAP, and Mechanical Ventilator Products Litigation (MDL. No. 3014), representing individuals suffering respiratory injuries, cancer and death as a result of Philips’ negligence and failure to warn of the potentially life-threatening risks that polyester-based polyurethane sound abatement foam used in the device can degrade, break down, and release toxic particulates and VOCs into the airway of the user; and
- In re Smith & Nephew Birmingham Hip Resurfacing (BHR) Hip Implant Products Liability Litigation (MDL No. 2775); and In re Stryker LFIT V40 Femoral Head Products Liability Litigation (MDL No. 2768), representing individuals injured by Metal-on-Metal hip devices.
Ms. Alderson also played an integral role in the In re Essure Product Cases (JCCP 4887) settlement, which provided $1.6 billion in overall compensation to women suffering severe injuries from the permanent birth control device Essure.
