Phil Aurbach
Phil Aurbach graduated from Western Kentucky University in 1973 in Business Administration with a Finance emphasis. He then attended the University of San Diego School of Law and graduated in 1977 after serving as the Research Editor of the San Diego Law Review. After a brief period with the Clark County District Attorney’s office and several law firms, until 1988 when Mr. Aurbach merged his firm with Al Marquis' firm to form Marquis Aurbach. He was admitted to practice in Nevada in September 1977 and, although not a certified specialist as defined by the State Bar, he enjoys contract law, commercial litigation, real estate law, partnership and corporate dissolution as well as mediating and arbitrating business disputes. When Mr. Aurbach is not in the office, you can usually find him on the tennis court or with his wife, Leigh, or both.
Mr. Aurbach has taken numerous matters to trial before juries and judges as well as representing his clients in arbitration and on appeals in various civil cases including winning a $5 million breach of contract award after 22 days of arbitration on behalf of a health care provider against an HMO.
In addition to his experience in litigation, arbitration and mediation, Mr. Aurbach has lectured for the Nevada Bar, the Clark County Bar and various national and regional legal education companies on evictions, deed of trust foreclosures, repossession of personal property under the U.C.C, effective use of the trial notebook in preparing for and conducting personal injury and contract trials, techniques for enforcing judgments (most notably: "How to Grab a Debtor by the Assets and Not Let Go" and "How to Fire Employees Without Making Them Cry”) as well as "How to Win Trials with your Computer".
