Attorney Phil Rarick has 30 years of experience in both private and public legal work. Mr. Rarick concentrates in the fields of estate planning (wills and trusts), asset protection, probate, and business law. Integrated asset protection with an estate plan designed to protect wealth and secure tax advantages are a primary focus of his practice.
Mr. Rarick is an active member of the Elder Law Section of the Florida Bar, and the Real Property, Probate and Trust Law section of the Florida Bar Association. He is the primary writer and editor for the Miami Trusts & Probate Alert newsletter and blog. Mr. Rarick is the author of a number of popular guides for fellow attorneys and the public: Florida Asset Protection: 7 Key Strategies For The Small Business Owner, Physician, And Other Professionals Florida Probate Quick Reference Guide Understanding Living Trusts for Florida Residents. He is the past President of the Miami Lakes Bar Association, and has served for eight years as a Director of the Association since its founding in 2005.
Mr. Rarick is married to Nancy C. Rarick, and the father of three children, Ashley (30), Joshua (28) and Hannah (20). Although now retired from coaching, for over thirteen years he was active in the Miami Lakes and Weston community affairs as a youth basketball and soccer coach.
A native of Indiana, Mr. Rarick obtained his undergraduate degree from Indiana University, Bloomington, and J.D. from Indiana University Law School, Indianapolis. Mr. Rarick served as counsel to the National Association of Attorneys General from 1983-1987. He is admitted to practice before the U.S. Supreme Court.
