Richard C Duell III
Richard C. Duell III maintains an active presence in the state, national and international legal communities advocating client's rights through a number of organizational and committee memberships. Mr. Duell is well respected by his colleagues having received a rating of "AV" by Martindale-Hubbell, the highest possible rating from the universally recognized legal referral source.
Richard C. Duell III received his Doctor of Jurisprudence at Cumberland School of Law of Samford University and his undergraduate degree in Business Administration from Auburn University. He has published numerous articles and speaks often on commercial and franchising law. Mr. Duell was on the panel at the 2004 and 2005 International Franchise Association (IFA) Expo in Washington, DC, speaking on Multi Unit and Multi-Concept Franchising, sponsored by Franchise Times.
Mr. Duell is a member of the Franchise Committee of the International Bar Association; the American Bar Association and its committees: Corporation, Banking and Business Law, Small Business; Forum Committee on Franchising; Franchising Section of Anti-Trust Law, he is a member of the Alabama Arbitrator Roster and is a charter member of the Birmingham, Alabama Bar Associationâs Bankruptcy and Commercial Law Section. He is licensed to practice before the United States Supreme Court, the 11th and 5th United States Courts of Appeal and all United States District Courts of Alabama and Alabama state courts. Mr. Duell has been active locally in his local Bar Association serving as Chairman of the Fee Arbitration and Unauthorized Practice of Law Committee and has been a member of its Civil Court Procedure Committee, Budget Committee, Lawyer Advertising and Solicitation Committee, Alternate Dispute Resolution Committee and Special Assignments Committee.
