Richard Gaines Heston
Heston & Heston, Attorneys at Law
With 46 years of practice in both bankruptcy and family law, I have developed a deep understanding of these fields, recognizing that consumers desire quick, low-conflict, and cost-effective resolutions to their issues. As one of the few dual Certified Specialists in Bankruptcy (from 1995 to the present) and Family Law (from 1992 to 2017), I am often approached by attorneys and litigants needing guidance when their cases extend from one area into the other, requiring knowledge and experience in both domains. Additionally, I have frequently contributed as a speaker and guest lecturer.
My commitment to public service is profound. I have served on and chaired the Bankruptcy Advisory Commission of the California State Bar, and been a board member of the Orange County Bankruptcy Forum and the American Bankruptcy Board of Certification. I currently represent the Ninth Circuit Judicial Conference. Moreover, I regularly take on pro bono cases from the Public Law Center, assisting indigent debtors.
