Richard Gaines Heston
Heston & Heston, Attorneys at Law
Having practiced for 42 years in both bankruptcy and family law, two often related fields of practice effecting consumers, I have gained considerable expertise as well as an understanding that consumers are seeking prompt resolution of such issues with the least conflict and at the lowest cost. Being among a small handful of dual Certified Specialists in both Bankruptcy (1995 to present) and Family Law (1992-2017), I am frequently sought out by attorneys and litigants whose cases originating in one field have spilled over into the other, where knowledge and experience in both areas is essential. In addition, I have served as a speaker and gust lecturer on numerous occasions.
I have also a deep commitment to public service, having served on an chaired the Bankruptcy Advisory Commission of the California State Bar, the boards of directors of the Orange County Bankruptcy Forum and the American Bankruptcy Board of Certification. I currently serve as a representative to the Ninth Circuit Judicial Conference. In addition, I regularly accept pro bono cases from the Public Law Center, representing indigent debtors.
