Robert Valli
Robert is a founding partner at the Firm with over twenty-seven (27) years of experience. He graduated from St. John’s University in 1987 and St. John’s University School of Law in 1990. Following his graduation from law school in 1990, he served as an Assistant District Attorney (“ADA”) with the Office of the Queens County District Attorney. During his tenure as an ADA, he served in the Intake Bureau, Criminal Court Bureau, Appeals Bureau, Homicide Investigations Bureau and the Supreme Court Trial Bureau. While an ADA, he conducted hundreds of evidentiary hearings, investigated numerous homicides, prosecuted hundreds of felonies and tried more than twenty (20) felony cases to verdict. He represented the Office of the District Attorney on more than twenty (20) appeals at the Appellate Division, Second Department, and was co-lead counsel representing the District Attorney’s Office in the investigation, prosecution and eventual homicide conviction of an FBI profiled sexually sadistic serial killer.
Presently, he is involved in the majority of the litigation at his firm. Below are a few examples of his cases:
Brown et. al. v. Medicis - (D.O.C.) Title VII gender discrimination and hostile environment class action for 225 women, settled for $7,150,000.
Indergit v. Rite Aid - (S.D.N.Y.) (FLSA and NYLL Store Manager Misclassification Case - settled for $5,500,000.
Kudo v. Panda Express - (S.D.N.Y.) (FLSA misclassification class of 155 opt-ins, settled for $2,975,000).
“PPA Cases ” – (SDNY) Representation of Parking Production Assistants (“PPAs”) who worked on a variety of film and television productions for most major studios in the New York area. Twelve settlements totaling approximately $30,000,000.
Roberts et. al. v. TJX, (D. Mass.) (Nationwide (ex. CA) FLSA misclassification case settled with co-counsel, training claims for $4,750,000; and the overall FLSA and NYLL misclassification case for an additional $31,500,000.
