Ronald Dweck
Principal, Paley Rothman
Ron Dweck is Chair of the firm’s Corporate practice group, and a member of the Tax, Nonprofit and Science & Technology groups. Ron acts as general counsel to a number of companies, including large and small corporations, limited liability companies, partnerships and business organizations in various fields. As such, he knows a great deal about many different practice areas and applies that knowledge to better serve his corporate clients. His corporate work includes preparing and negotiating a wide variety of business contracts, as well as counseling in conjunction with executive compensation, corporate governance and risk & litigation management. He has extensive experience in structuring and negotiating business and financing transactions, including the sale, merger and acquisition of companies, reorganizations, and private placement funding.
Ron realizes better than most that there is an art to selling a business. It is not simply about crunching numbers, but more about all of the factors that go into making a successful deal that is in the client’s best interest. Knowing your client (and the other party to the transaction), by identifying early on their priorities, strengths and weaknesses is paramount. Ron believes it is important to anticipate issues and concerns with thorough preparation, not just react to them as they arise. No two deals are alike, and Ron strives to fashion creative solutions for his clients.
Ron’s skills go beyond his service to his clients. He served as Co-President of Paley Rothman for several years, before stepping down in 2013. Prior to joining the firm, he was an attorney with the Tax Division of the United States Department of Justice, representing the U.S. government in tax cases before the U.S. Courts of Appeal.
