Samuel J Pope
Rizk Law PC
Before working as an attorney, Samuel Pope volunteered with hospice organizations and worked as a manager at a non-profit organization helping adults with learning disabilities. Through this work, Mr. Pope fostered a deep compassion and drive to help people and he brings this compassion to his work at Rizk Law PC.
Since graduating Cum Laude from Lewis & Clark Law School, Mr. Pope has vigorously represented his clients and was recently designated a 2020 TOP 10 Oregon attorney under 40 by the National Academy of Personal Injury Attorneys.
At Rizk Law PC, Mr. Pope helps injured people and their families - not insurance companies. Mr. Pope has a chemistry degree and science background from college, which is rare for personal injury attorneys. This science background helps Mr. Pope identify key issues in cases involving medical malpractice, brain injury, trucking accidents, and other cases.
Sam is a lifelong soccer fan and player, and loves spending his spare time outside. Sam enjoys the outdoors by gardening, hiking, camping, tubing, target shooting, and boating with his two dogs. He is learning to brew beer, make wine, bake delicious homemade sourdough bread, and how to pickle and ferment the excess veggies from his garden. Sam is also a lifelong animal advocate and enjoys volunteering at local animal shelters and sanctuaries when he has time outside of work.

- Q. I need help with my injury case that was poorly mismanaged.
- A: It's not entirely clear to me if your case has been settled yet, or not. If it has already settled and all that is left to do is to agree to the language in the release and sign it - at that point it will be difficult, likely impossible, to renegotiate the settlement. You can certainly complain to the State Bar's website, but you might have better luck trying to work things out with your attorney. Some attorneys are willing to reduce their fee if a client is unhappy. You might consider mentioning everything that you just listed here to your attorney, and reiterate that you want to talk to your attorney before you sign the release. The attorney might offer to reduce his fee. If he doesn't, you could bring it up. He should certainly provide you with the original fee agreement that you signed when you came on as a client, if you request that. I hope this was helpful. Good luck.
