Sean Francis Byrnes

Mr. Byrnes graduated from the Georgetown University Law Center in 1992. He received a Bachelor’s Degree with Honors from the U.S. Coast Guard Academy in 1985, and served in the U.S. Coast Guard on active duty for seven years. He served as the Operations Officer on the Coast Guard Cutter Gentian, the Budget and Planning Officer for the Chief Counsel of the U.S. Coast Guard, and as a Commander in the Coast Guard Reserve at Fort Wadsworth, NY. He was recalled to active duty for service in New Orleans as the Deputy Chief of Staff at Area Field Office New Orleans, which coordinated recovery efforts in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina.

Mr. Byrnes’ experience covers a wide range of specialties. He has extensive experience handling litigated matters in Federal and State Court for individuals and small businesses. He has represented clients in matters involving wrongful termination, harassment, wage and hour disputes, estate litigation, probate matters, guardianships, collection of debts, trade secret claims, and claims alleging interference with business. A significant portion of Mr. Byrnes’ practice is dedicated to Estate Planning and Administration. He regularly prepares Wills, Powers of Attorney, Living Wills, Health Care Proxies and Advanced Health Care Directives, and assists clients and their families through the probate process, the administration of an estate, including preparation of estate tax returns.

Mr. Byrnes’ robust practice also involves the sale and acquisition of small businesses, filing of construction liens, contract drafting, labor arbitrations, and residential and commercial real estate transactions.
