
Seth Alben Aronson

Seth Aronson joined Phillips ADR in 2023, mediating disputes up to ten figures in securities, consumer class actions, privacy, false claims, shareholder derivative, antitrust, RMBS fraud, and complex litigation. He serves on the ADR panel for the U.S. District Court, Central District of California.
Retiring from O’Melveny & Myers LLP in 2022 after 40 years as a trial and appellate lawyer, Seth was managing partner of O’Melveny’s Los Angeles office and chaired its Securities Litigation practice. Ranked by Chambers USA for 20 years, he was named California Securities Litigation Attorney of the Year twice by Benchmark Litigation, a “Top 100 Lawyer” by the Daily Journal, and recognized by Best Lawyers in America in four categories. He was also listed in Who’s Who Legal: California, Lawdragon’s “500 Leading Lawyers,” and as a top securities litigator.
Seth authored “Shareholder Derivative Actions: From Cradle to Grave” and has spoken at Practising Law Institute, American Bar Association, and Federal Bar Association events. He moderated the “Ethics for the Securities Lawyer” program for the Los Angeles County Bar Association.
A legal community leader, Seth served as President of the Legal Aid Foundation of Los Angeles, Association of Business Trial Lawyers, and Chancery Club. He helped establish the Los Angeles Superior Court Complex Courts and created a scholarship at Loyola Law School. In 2021, he received the Legal Aid Foundation’s Maynard Toll Award for public service.
Seth won a unanimous U.S. Supreme Court decision in China Agritech v. Resh (2018), narrowing tolling provisions in class actions. He earned his B.A. from Ohio University and J.D. from Loyola Law School. A car enthusiast, Seth lives in Newport Beach, California, with his wife Valerie, and has three sons and three grandchildren.
