Shawn Barnett is a skilled litigator and trial attorney who is dedicated to helping those who have been victimized by law enforcement or correctional officers. He has received multiple million-dollar settlements for his clients and has been recognized as an Illinois Rising Star multiple times.
During his time as an attorney, Shawn has represented numerous clients who have been injured by those who have abused their authority. He has vigorously pursued a wide variety of claims on behalf of his clients, including false arrest, malicious prosecution, excessive force, wrongful death, and sexual assault. Shawn has a particular focus on police involved shooting incidents and has litigated multiple cases involving shootings. He understands that there are always two sides to every story and is willing to listen to each potential new client explain their situation.
Shawn's philosophy is to litigate his cases aggressively, communicate with his clients to keep them informed about the case and what is reasonable, and to do whatever he can in order to obtain justice for his clients. This is not only Shawn's philosophy but that of Hale & Monico, a law firm with decades of experience in the field of civil rights and personal injury.
