He attended Culver Military Academy, graduated from Highland Park High School in Dallas, Texas, and matriculated from Austin College with a dual major B.A. Degree. Mr. Miller attended the University of Texas School of Law and graduated with a Juris Doctor degree. He received various honors while in law school, including the Delta Theta Phi Law Fraternity Outstanding Student Award. Within a week of graduation, Mr. Miller was licensed and began to practice law in Dallas, Texas. He was certified as a Consumer Bankruptcy Law Specialist from 1994 through 2003 and also certified as a Commercial Real Estate Law Specialist from 1983 through 1998. Mr. Miller is the husband of Alice S. Miller, another Austin College graduate. Mr. and Mrs. Miller have three daughters, two sons, two daughters-in-law, two sons-in-law, four granddaughters, three grandsons, and two great granddaughters. He is General Counsel for the Legal Aid Society of Texas.

Mr. Miller is enrolled in Who's Who in the World; Who's Who of Emerging Leaders in America; Who's Who in American Law; and the Pro Bono College of the State Bar of Texas.

Mr. Miller belongs to the State Bar of Texas and National Association of Consumer Advocates. He is also serves on the State Bar of Texas Housing Law Task Force and the Texas Tenants Union.
