Tatia Barnes
Serving Your Probate, Administration and Estate Litigation NeedsI am an experienced New York Probate Attorney who has the rare skill of simplifying Estate law into plain language so that my clients clearly understand their situations and how I can help them achieve their legal goals. I represent individuals whose assets and rights are subject to New York Estate laws. I also serve as a Court Appointed Part 36 Fiduciary in Supreme and Surrogate's court. As a poised litigator (and former prosecutor), I am adept and practical in representing my clients both in and out of the courtroom. I obtained my law degree at Fordham University School of Law while employed with Martin, Clearwater & Bell. I gained further legal experience with the Legal Aid Society, The Honorable Randall T. Eng, Fordham Tax & Consumer Litigation Clinic and the Law Offices of Frank Handelman. Upon graduating from law school, I enhanced my litigation skills for several years serving as an Assistant District Attorney for the Honorable Robert T. Johnson (Bronx) and was then associated with several respected, successful and aggressive litigation firms. In 2010 I established my own law practice dedicated to Probate, Estate Administration, Estate Litigation and Estate Planning Law. I am admitted to practice in the United States Supreme Court, United States Tax Court, United States District Court Eastern District, United States District Court Southern District, United States Bankruptcy Court Eastern District, New York Court of Appeals, New York Appellate Division, New York Surrogate's Court, New York Supreme Court and all other New York State Courts. I am well-known as a compassionate attorney who: (1) clearly explains the Surrogate’s Court process to my clients and (2) ensures that their estate matters are properly handled.
