- Q. Is it possible to keep the house in a Georgia divorce if my spouse wants to sell?
- A: I'm so sorry to hear that. It sounds like you have done all you can to maintain stability for your children and that is being threatened. It is likely that you can make an argument to keep the HOUSE but it is highly unlikely that the Court will let you keep all the equity. You should consult with an attorney to explore all avenues to ensure you get the best result for your children.
- Q. I'm primary custody parent&the mother has taken child out of state to Georgia to keep without my knowledge. Advice?
- A: Wow! That sound like a terrible situation for your son. He must be so confused not knowing what is going on. If you have a Court Order that you have custody, it sounds like contempt may be in order. You should consult with an attorney to assist you in getting your son back as the Court Order dictates.
- Q. How do I get my child support order lowered due to loss of job and medical issues?
- A: If you have had a change of income, you can Petition the Court for a modification of child support. It would need to be filed in the Count of the Defendant's residence.
