Mr. Lightfoot was admitted to the District of Columbia Bar in 2017. His legal experience for the past 5 years consists primarily of civil litigation in the District of Columbia. This experience is dominated by tort-based litigation.
Mr. Lightfoot earned a juris doctor degree from the George Washington University Law School in 2017. During law school, Mr. Lightfoot worked in Mayor Muriel Bowser’s Office of Legal Counsel where he assisted with drafting legislation. He was also a law clerk with a plaintiff’s personal injury firm, working on a variety of personal injury cases involving construction accidents, medical malpractice, workers’ compensation, car accidents, and premises liability. Before attending law school, Mr. Lightfoot received a bachelor’s degree from East Carolina University where he graduated magna cum laude and received honors in political science.
After graduation from law school, Mr. Lightfoot was an associate with the D.C. firm. In June of 2019, he joined the law firm of May Lightfoot PLLC where he represented plaintiffs/claimants in personal injury cases on a contingent fee basis and workers’ compensation cases pursuant to fees as approved by the court. Mr. Lightfoot now practices in his own firm by the name Lightfoot Law PLLC.
