Madana Hermiz, the firm’s managing attorney, attended the University of Nevada, Las Vegas William S. Boyd School of Law, graduating cum laude.

During law school, Ms. Hermiz was a member of the dean’s list and received an academic scholarship to attend. She earned a position as one of twelve on Boyd’s moot court team, the Society of Advocates, where she went on to represent Boyd at Brooklyn Law School’s Prince Evidence Moot Court Competition, earning second-place brief. Ms. Hermiz also represented Boyd at the American Bar Association’s Client Counseling Competition, placing second, after winning first-place in the in-house competition.

Before establishing HermizLaw, Ms. Hermiz worked at the Federal Public Defender’s Office of Nevada in the non-capital habeas unit where she wrote pleadings to the U.S. Supreme Court of the United States, Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals and U.S. District Court of Nevada. Ms. Hermiz was also selected as one of six to join the Boyd’s Juvenile Justice Clinic, where she represented juveniles in all aspects of their criminal case, handling various cases including burglary, larceny, home invasion, solicitation, possession of a firearm, domestic violence, assault and battery and drug crimes. During that time, Ms. Hermiz was selected by Professor Anne Traum to act as her Research Assistant in connection with the Appellate Clinic at Boyd.

In 2010, Ms. Hermiz was selected as Holland & Hart’s Professional Development Fellow, where she gathered extensive experience at one of Las Vegas’ most prestigious law firms.
Prior to that, Ms. Hermiz served as an extern to Chief Judge Nakagawa in the United States Bankruptcy Court in the District of Nevada.

Ms. Hermiz spent a summer in Detroit working at the Wayne County Prosecutor’s Office and at the State of Michigan Appellate Defender’s Office. The summer prior to that, Ms. Hermiz studied abroad in Florence, Rome, The Hague, Brussels, Luxembourg, Strasbourg, Salzburg and Vienna where U.S. Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia taught Separation of Powers.

Michelle McLean received her Bachelors of Science from Cornerstone University in 2002. She later received her Juris Doctorate Cum Laude from Michigan State University College of Law in 2007. While earning her law degree, Ms. McLean served both on the Inns of Court (Lansing) and also worked as an extern for Kent Countyâs 17th Circuit Judicial Court.

Prior to practicing law, Ms. Mclean worked for a national mortgage lender and has over fifteen years experience in this capacity. She worked as an underwriter, collector, manager, and finally as an account executive. By combining her vast experience in mortgage lending/real estate industry with the practice of law, Ms. McLean offers her clients a unique perspective as their advocate.

Michelle has extensive knowledge in mortgage lending law and also has experience handling foreclosure rescue scams, mortgage lending abuses, mortgage fraud, mortgage modifications, and is familiar with relevant mortgage banking laws. In addition, Michelle has handled many other consumer law issues from deceptive and fraudulent trade practices, lemon laws, breach of warranty issues, consumer debt collection violations, fair credit reporting issues, and student loan law issues. In addition, Michelle has handled several landlord tenant cases involving breach of lease, default, eviction, etc.

In the area of family law, Michelle has successfully represented clients regarding divorce, contested custody, parenting time disputes, child support review, spousal support, fair and equitable division of the marital estate, grandparent visitation, adoption, paternity, and conservatorships/guardianships.

David D. Sprague is the firm's principal partner. David is actively involved with the Family Law and Probate and Estate Planning Certificated Programs offered by Institute of Continuing Legal Education (ICLE). David participates in continuing education to stay current on family law, business law, real estate and estate planning/probate issues that affect his clients. David has received his Certificate of Completion for the Probate & Estate Planning Certificate Program offered by ICLE and the Probate & Estate Planning Section of the State Bar of Michigan.

Mr. Tibble received his Bachelor of Arts from Western Michigan University in 1977; a Master of Public Administration from Western Michigan University in 1980; a Juris Doctor from Thomas M. Cooley Law School in 1990. He was admitted to practice in Michigan in 1990 and the United States Court of Appeals for the 6th Circuit in 1990.

Mr. Tibble is a member of numerous organizations, including: Michigan Bar Association, Kalamazoo Bar Association, Real Estate Practitioners' Section of the Michigan Bar Association, and the Kalamazoo Trial Lawyers Association. In addition, Mr. Tibble holds a Michigan real estate brokers license, and he is an experienced real estate investor.

Mr. Tibble received a Bachelor of Arts from Western Michigan University in 1977 and a Master of Public Administration from Western in 1980. He received a J.D. from Thomas M. Cooley Law School in 1990.

Mr. Tibble and his wife, Trish, reside in Comstock with their two children.

Travis B. Robertson is an associate attorney at Dresser, Dresser, Haas & Caywood P.C. in Sturgis, Michigan where he practices in the areas of estate planning, taxation, probate, estate and trust administration, real estate and business law. Travis joined the Dresser firm in October of 2009, following the completion of his legal studies at the University of Florida. Travis earned his Juris Doctorate, magna cum laude, from the University of Toledo College of Law in 2008 where he served as a Teaching Assistant and published member of the University of Toledo Law Review.

While in law school, Travis clerked for the Honorable Joseph A. Costello of Michigan's 38th Judicial Circuit, and held internship positions with the Honorable David A. Katz of the United States District Court for the Northern District of Ohio, Commissioner Ben Konop's Office in Lucas County, Ohio, and the Branch County Prosecutor's Office. Travis received two public service commendations during his time at the University of Toledo, and was elected to the Order of the Coif upon graduation.

After obtaining his law degree, Travis went on to earn a Master of Laws degree (LL.M.) in Taxation from the University of Florida Levin College of Law where he received a graduate assistantship and served as a Staff Editor of the Florida Tax Review.

This came after earning her Bachelor of Science in Public Law and Government from Eastern Michigan University in 1993. She was licensed to practice law in the State of Michigan in 1996 and was admitted to Federal Court in 2005.

Before coming to work at the Shoults, Picard & Brooks in 1998, she had worked at a children's legal clinic, the Wayne County Prosecutor's Office, and a personal injury firm in Southfield, Michigan. She was also published for an annual survey for a Colorado Juvenile Case Law Update.

Renee Picard was the 2006-2007 President of the Lapeer County Bar Association and of which she has been both an officer and member of the Scholarship Committee. She is licensed to practice in Federal Court - Eastern District of Michigan and is a member of the Appellate Section of the Michigan State Bar Association.
