Experienced trial attorney, specializing in the areas of fair housing and fair lending, including residential and commercial mortgage lending and financing, title and insurance issues, and foreclosure and post-foreclosure defense. Also specializing in lending discrimination and predatory lending claims raised under the federal Fair Housing Act (FHA), Equal Credit Opportunity Act (ECOA), 42 U.S.C. 1981 & 1982 (Sections 1981 & 1982), Truth in Lending Act (TILA), the Home Ownership and Equity Protection Act (HOEPA), and other federal and state laws pertaining to mortgage lending and predatory lending. -- Since 2004, have served as a part-time instructor with the Department of Housing and Urban Development's ("HUD") National Fair Housing Training Academy ("NFHTA") in Washington, D.C. The NFHTA is a comprehensive training program in fair housing and fair lending compliance, investigation and enforcement. Also serve as instructor in advanced course on lending discrimination and predatory lending, involving analysis of suspected individual and systemic lending violations and training in applicable statutory and common law grounds for obtaining remedial relief in administrative, civil or criminal proceedings. Have drafted courses on lending discrimination and predatory lending, and on litigating fair housing cases. -- Also experienced in employment and labor law, including claims of employment discrimination and wrongful discharge; disability discrimination; sexual harassment; employment contracts, grievances, collective bargaining, non-competition agreements, and wage claims; and claims involving public accommodations. -- Over 20 years experience in consumer bankruptcy, both under Chapters 7 and 13.

Blake Lipman has been a practicing attorney in Michigan since 1995. He worked as a real estate lawyer for a number of title companies for approximately 5 years. He is a graduate of Wayne State University Business School and Wayne State University Law School. Mr. Lipman practices in the greater tri-county area, which includes Wayne, Oakland, Macomb, Livingston, Washtenaw, and Monroe counties.
