Alisa D Wilkes
Wilkes & Mee, PLLC
Alisa Wilkes is dedicated to helping the injured, which dedication heavily draws from a serious injury her father suffered as a railroad employee when she was young.
She remembers, "He had no work, no income, and a series of trial-and-error jobs that left my dad depressed, ashamed, and stressed as he struggled to make ends meet. Although they did their best to protect us kids from the enormity of the situation, it was definitely a financial hardship. Later, when we were adults, we learned that there were Christmases when dad had to borrow money just to make sure there were presents under the tree. I know that took a toll on his pride and self-confidence."
It took her father's attorney five years to resolve the case. Five years of stress in the home. Five years of tension. Five years of not knowing what was next. “Every minute counts when you’re waiting for a judgment that will put food on your table and keep the lights on," she says.
With that experience, Alisa's goal is to change the way people think about lawyers. And there lies the source of her urgency and passion for helping the injured through often-times life-changing events.
