Raising the Bar for Pennsylvania Appeals
Corrie focuses his practice on appellate, criminal, and post-conviction cases. Corrie also authors SCOPABlog, which provides comprehensive coverage of the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania’s docket.
Corrie serves as Chair of the Allegheny County Bar Association Appellate Practice Committee, which promotes excellence in appellate advocacy. He is also a member of the Allegheny County Bar Association Criminal Litigation Section and Solo and Small Practitioners Section, and a member of the Washington County Bar Association. In connection with these organizations, Corrie has presented numerous continuing legal education seminars.
Before founding Woods Law Offices, Corrie served as a staff attorney to Justice Debra Todd of the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania for roughly 6 years, and, before that, as a staff attorney to Judge Arthur Recht of the First Judicial Circuit of West Virginia. Corrie graduated magna cum laude from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law, where he served as Research Editor for the University of Pittsburgh Law Review, and where he was awarded for excellence in the study of constitutional law and criminal defense. Corrie also graduated summa cum laude with valedictory honors from West Liberty University in West Virginia.
In his spare time, Corrie also serves as Chair of the Coraopolis NAACP Legal Redress Committee, which provides education about civil rights and resources to individuals whose civil rights may have been violated, as a board member for the Coraopolis Community Development Corporation, which promotes increased business and community development in the Coraopolis area, and as a member of the Society of St. Vincent dePaul, which provides faith and financial resources to those in need.
