Dennis Phillips
Personal Injury
When I was in the Navy at age 18, I injured my back and could not keep up. The doctors at the base hospital took x-rays and said, "well, your back isn't broken", and they prescribed me some pills to mask the pain. Since I could not keep up, I was honorably discharged, but without any disability or veterans' benefits. I limped for two years due to the pain and weakness down my leg.
Later, long after it was too late to do anything about it, I realized that I had been railroaded by the system. The Navy should have provided better for me. This experience, as much as anything, is why I became a personal injury attorney.
It is all too easy for the little guy to have his rights trampled, and I am happy to be in a position to do something about that - all while helping to make my community safer by holding wrongdoers accountable. Hopefully they will learn to change their systems and change their behaviors to prevent the next little guy from being injured in the first place.
