Harry Payton represents domestic and international corporations and high net worth individuals in complex business litigation matters involving commercial real estate, commercial foreclosures and lender liability; litigation involving fine art; corporate, shareholder and partnership disputes; probate, will and trust litigation; and intra-family business disputes.
Harry is one of 88 lawyers in the state of Florida with dual board certification in civil trial and business litigation. Certification is the Florida Bar's highest level of evaluation of the competency and experience of attorneys. In addition, Payton has received an AV Preeminent peer review rating from Martindale-Hubbell, an indicator of a lawyer's high ethical standards and professional ability, for more than 30 years.
In 2012, Harry was appointed to the Supreme Court of Florida Committee on Professionalism for the Eleventh Judicial Circuit, and chairs the mentoring program subcommittee. He is a member of the Florida Bar Section of Business Law; and the Florida Bar Section of Entertainment, Arts and Sports Law.
In the ABA, Harry is a member of the Subcommittee on Billing and Budgeting, Corporate Counsel Committee, Section of Litigation (on which he served as Vice Chair from 1994-1997, and Co-Chair from 1998-2004). He was a leader in the effort by the American Bar Association Committee on Corporate Counsel in the creation of a uniform system of billing and budgeting that serves as a platform for assessing the productivity and efficiency of outside counsel and law firms.
