Jay Scott Finnecy
Experience counts. Put my experience to work for you today!
I am criminal defense attorney Jay S. Finnecy and I want to help you. I have been practicing criminal law exclusively for 28 years. I passed the three-day California Bar Exam on my first attempt. Immediately after sitting for that exam at the end of July, 1995, I began my legal career as a Graduate Law Clerk in the San Diego County District Attorney’s Office—assigned to the Gang Prosecution Unit. I then served as a Deputy District Attorney from 1996-2002.
Finnecy Law Firm was established in 2002. As a private-retained criminal defense attorney I have successfully defended cases involving undersized lobsters, loud roosters, driving under the influence, assault with a deadly weapon, sexual assault, felony driving under the influence with injury, embezzlement, second-degree implied-malice murder (“Watson”), and everything in between. Private criminal defense practice also involves a pre-filing/pre-charge representation. This is where a privately retained attorney makes a tremendous impact. Although I never envisioned it, I even developed a minor specialty in pre-file hit and run representation—helping clients get their impounded vehicle released without incriminating themselves.
Criminal defense requires attention to detail, creativity, and passion. A passion to stick it to The Man. I LOVE sticking it to The Man! I'm here to fight for you and help you through difficult times. Being charged with a criminal offense is stressful, confusing, and scary. Put my experience to work for you. I will navigate you through the system and help you reach the best possible result.
