Professional Expertise: Since August of 2007, Jeffrey’s primary area of practice has been in real estate litigation, primarily in residential landlord-tenant disputes. Jeffrey has extensive experience with real estate litigation claims involving common law and statutory fraud, fraud by non-disclosure, negligent misrepresentation, and alleged violations of the Texas Consumer Protection – Deceptive Trade Practices Act (DTPA). In addition, Jeffrey has handled numerous business and consumer litigation matters as well as debt collection actions, including writs of execution and garnishment. Jeffrey has handled more than 1,500 cases ranging from municipal court to the Supreme Court of Texas
In the area of real estate litigation, Jeffrey is recognized as an expert in post-foreclosure litigation, including eviction proceedings, wrongful foreclosure, and title disputes. Jeffrey has represented landlords and tenants in eviction and security deposit disputes. Further, Jeffrey has handled hundreds of breach of lease contract and breach of lease contract guaranty cases across the State of Texas. Jeffrey has assisted property owners with the homeowner’s and condominium owners’ disputes. In the realm of post-purchase litigation, Jeffrey has prosecuted and defended claims arising from alleged failure to disclose defects and other similar matters involving fraud, misrepresentation, the DTPA and earnest money.
On the appellate side, Jeffrey has prosecuted and defended appeals in the Texas Fifth Court of Appeals at Dallas, the Second Court of Appeals at Fort Worth, the Seventh Court of Appeals in Amarillo, and the Tenth Court of Appeals at Waco. Further, Jeffrey has handled and assisted with matters in the Supreme Court of Texas. As a result of such experience, Jeffrey has developed impressive research and legal writing skills that have served him at all levels of litigation.
