John Weber (Johnny) is an attorney in Gulfport, Mississippi, with a focus on federal and state criminal defense, complex litigation and appeals. Johnny represents clients in admiralty and maritime litigation, commercial and business litigation, white-collar criminal defense, and government investigations.
Johnny served as senior litigator and supervising attorney in charge of the Gulfport office of the Federal Public Defender, Southern District of Mississippi where he tried over 30 felony jury trials, including a number of high-profile cases, and obtained not guilty verdicts and dismissals for many of his clients. In that capacity, Johnny has argued several cases before the Federal Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals and provided training and advice on sentencing and trial strategy to local federal criminal defense attorneys.
Johnny received a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Management Systems from Louisiana State University in December 1995 and his Juris Doctor, cum laude, from the Southern University Law Center in May 1999. In 2004, Johnny graduated from the National Criminal Defense College, the preeminent criminal defense training program in the United States.
Johnny commissioned as a JAG officer in the U.S. Navy and began his legal career in Washington D.C. where he provided general legal advice to sailors, marines, and military retirees, represented injured sailors and marines before the Physical Evaluation Board at disability hearings and acted as defense counsel for military members accused of crimes in the military justice system.
