Kathryn L Simmons
Ms. Simmons earned her bachelor’s degree in political science at Central Michigan University, where she attended on a CMU Honors Scholarship. She earned her juris doctor from Cooley Law School, where she was on the Cooley Law Review, the Honor Roll and the Dean’s List. She also received the American Jurisprudence Award for excellence in Advocacy and Products Liability. Throughout her legal career, Ms. Simmons has played an active role in both the State Bar Association and the Oakland County Bar Association, where she served as chairperson of the Criminal Law Committee. She was appointed by the mayor of Madison Heights to serve as the chair of the city’s Quasi-Judicial Appeal Board. She has published articles in the Oakland County Bar Association journal, Laches. In addition to her work in the legal community, Kathryn Simmons has taken an active role in furthering legal education. She has participated in many appellate, circuit and district court bench bar conferences. She taught legal methods for five years as an adjunct professor at Cooley Law School, and continues to speak at area schools about business law, criminal law and marketing. In addition, Ms. Simmons is a regular presenter at continuing legal education seminars and conferences.
