Keith E. Emmons
With his accumulated knowledge of Health Care Law and Litigation Services, Keith Emmons offers a unique perspective on the legal issues important to the professional clients of Meyer Capel.
Mr. Emmons has been recognized as both an Illinois Leading Lawyer and an Illinois Super Lawyer in the Health Care Law field. His practice includes the general representation of health care providers and their professional practices, general litigation, and alternative dispute resolution ("ADR") as a mediator and arbitrator. Mr. Emmons also represents health care professionals in proceedings before the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation, Division of Professional Regulation (IDFPR). He has served as a hospital medical staff hearing officer as well as a mediator and arbitrator in the resolution of civil disputes. For many years Mr. Emmons defended health care providers, group medical practices, hospitals and other professionals in professional liability litigation.
He is a graduate of the Loyola University of Chicago School of Law where he was a member of the Loyola University Law Journal, the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and Southern Illinois University.
Mr. Emmons has made frequent presentations to health care professionals and attorneys concerning health care related legal issues. He has been a featured speaker for the Illinois State Bar Association, the American Bar Association, the American Academy of Healthcare Attorneys Annual Meeting and the Illinois Association of Healthcare Attorneys Annual Symposium. In addition, Mr. Emmons is the author of numerous articles on medical malpractice defense, managed care reform, corporate medical practice, physician representation and the ever-changing health care environment.
