Lissett Costa Ferreira
Elder & Family Law Attorney Helping Families Manage Life Changes
Lissett Ferreira is a partner and Chair of the Elder Law & Special Needs and Family & Divorce Law practice groups at Meenan & Associates, LLC, a boutique civil litigation law firm. Lissett’s main focus is helping people manage and plan for major life changes, including divorce, disability and death. Her primary practice areas are guardianships; estate, long-term care and special needs planning; trusts and estates; Medicaid and supplemental need trusts; divorce and family law issues; and pre- and post-nuptial agreements.
Lissett entered private practice in 2013, after nearly a decade of public service as a principal court attorney to a New York State Supreme Court judge presiding over matrimonial and then Article 81 guardianship matters. She is a graduate of Fordham University School of Law, order of the coif, Brown University and Hunter College High School, and a former Fulbright Scholar.
At the New York Women's Bar Association, Lissett serves as Corresponding Secretary; co-chair of the Elder Law & Disabilities committee; and a member of several committees. In addition to serving as a member of the Small Law Firms and Legal Problems of the Aging committees at the New York City Bar Association (NYCBA), Lissett chairs a NYCBA Lawyer's Networking Group. Lissett was recently nominated to serve on the Board of Directors of the Women's Bar Association of the State of New York. She lectures widely on topics primarily related to guardianship and Medicaid planning.
