Biography

My professional approach to people and problems was developed during my time in the Military. I enlisted in the US Air Force out of high school and later earned my commission before retiring in 2008. My goal is to build relationships with my clients whether my time with them last months or years.. I am about more than just performing a legal task and collecting payment. Whether I am providing full-service representation or limited scope services, I work to make the process as smooth as possible, establishing trust and respect with all parties involved. We are a general practice firm and a good place to start if you are confused about your legal issues. The focus of my practice is consumer bankruptcy, Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 Bankruptcy cases, Immigration, Wills and simple estate planning, and Real Estate. I will sit down you, discuss the issues and help you decide if you want to move forward with a legal action or process. If, for some reason, I cannot directly assist you with the matter, I can assist you with finding another competent attorney that you can trust. Furthermore, I will work with the client and the referring attorney to make sure the client receives the same quality of legal service I would provide them myself.

Q. Can a divorced dad with full custody of his 13 yr old son go away on vacation and leave his son with his visiting mom?
A: At first blush I would say yes but is there a reason not to? For instance, do you have custody because the state took it away from her for some reason? Parents and make consensual temporary changes to custody orders. In fact, the court prefers parents working together. Do you have a concern his mother will abuse the extra time? It would be best to talk to a local family attorney but based of the fact you present, which are very few, I would not see a problem. Q. My husband will soon be filing for divorce. He will be losing his job and receive a severance pay am I entitled to half
A: This is not a simple question. If you know your husband is planning to divorce you, you should be consulting a good family attorney now. He or she can help you plan. But his severance pay should be factored in somewhere. Q. I am thinking of getting a divorce. I reside in Pennsylvania. How are assets and liabilities handled?
A: Wow, this is a broad question. In PA, we have "Equitable Distribution." That doesn't mean equal or 50/50. It means the court divides the martial property in the best way the parties can move on in a fair way... in theory anyway. So if you are the non-dependent spouse with an advanced degree and working in your chosen field, there is a good chance you will get less than 50% if your spouse is the dependent spouse who is a HS graduate who stayed home to take care of children and is going to have to go through great efforts to start or re-start a career. With that said, property can be negotiated. That is always best.
