Melissa Angelique Aldape
Laura Dale & Associates, P.C.
Melissa A. Aldape has been an attorney with Laura Dale and Associates, P.C. since 2019. She is a bilingual attorney, fluent in both English and Spanish, focusing her practice on helping individuals with family related matters. Melissa is licensed to practice law in Texas and is experienced in handling high conflict custody cases as well as property division in highly contested divorces.
Melissa graduated from Boston University with a Bachelor of Arts in English and Business Administration in 2011. She obtained a Juris Doctorate degree from Loyola University New Orleans College of Law in 2014 where she was the Secretary for the International Law Society. During her time at Loyola, she was the Vice-President of the Trial Advocacy Program and also worked as a Student Practitioner in the Stuart H. Smith Law Clinic's Children's Rights Clinic. As an appointed attorney, Melissa represented individuals in cases involving children’s rights, including Special Immigrant Juvenile cases. It was during this time that Melissa discovered her passion for litigation and protecting the interests of children.
Upon graduating from law school, Melissa practiced transactional, employment-based immigration law in Houston, Texas for several years. Through her immigration practice, Melissa gained valuable experience working with international clientele and U.S. Embassies abroad. This experience, combined with her passion for advocacy, led Melissa to return to litigation. Melissa now exclusively practices family law and prides herself in passionately advocating for her clients.
Melissa is an active member of the State Bar of Texas Family Law Section and was a speaker for Business Network International (BNI) Latino’s virtual meeting in 2020.
