Michael D. Pinsky
Practice restricted to bankruptcy law and closely related matters.
I represent individuals and small businesses in New York's Hudson Valley before the U.S. Bankruptcy Court, in cases under chapters 7, 11, 12 and 13 of the Bankruptcy Code.
My practice has been almost entirely restricted to bankruptcy for over 30 years. I have assisted hundreds of individuals struggling to get fair treatment from their mortgage holders, credit card banks and car lenders. Some of the cases I have been involved in included protecting clients against abusive conduct by mortgage companies, and responding to mortgage appraisal fraud and lending fraud. I have handled a number of small but relatively complex chapter 11 business reorganization cases, including successfully reorganizing a rural community hospital, a sizable government contracting business, a group of funeral homes, and have restructured the secured debt against a number of real estate ventures.
I value my relationships with my clients, and understand that one of the most important aspects of effectively representing them includes understanding the stress that accompanies financial difficulties, and helping them to lose it. Bankruptcy offers the proverbial "fresh start." From my perspective, that should include more than just a discharge at the end of the case. Each client is different, and each case is different. You deserve someone who knows that, and practices law accordingly.
