Mr. Carlson is an associate at McOmber & McOmber, P.C. and a resident of Neptune Township in Monmouth County. Mr. Carlson’s primary areas of practice are employment law and civil litigation. Mr. Carlson handles all aspects of employment litigation, including but not limited to matters involving discrimination, retaliation, wrongful termination, as well as non-compete, whistleblower and qui tam actions.
As an employment attorney, Mr. Carlson has experience litigating employment matters on behalf of employees who suffered harm as a result of negligent or malicious actions on the part of their employers. Mr. Carlson believes that all workplaces should be free of discrimination, sexual harassment, retaliation, wrongful discharge, and other such violations. Mr. Carlson is passionate about his role as a client advocate and is dedicated to providing focused attention to each matter.
Mr. Carlson also provides clients with guidance in general civil litigation. He advises and represents clients in civil disputes regarding contract matters, property disputes, municipal disputes, educational matters, and tort claims.
Mr. Carlson graduated from the University of Connecticut, where he earned a Bachelor of Science Degree with a major in Human Development. Following his graduation from the University of Connecticut, Mr. Carlson moved to New Jersey and spent several years working as the athletic director and basketball coach at a private high school. During this time, Mr. Carlson developed an interest in the law and enrolled at the Seton Hall University School of Law to begin his new career.
While at law school, Mr. Carlson was an inaugural member of the school’s Leadership Fellows program. As a Leadership Fellow, Mr. Carlson was mentored in the art and praxis of leadership by numerous highly successful and influential attorneys. Along with four other Fellows, Mr. Carlson created an organization to distribute care packages to Newark’s homeless population.
