Paul Wheatley graduated from Michigan State University in 1999 with a bachelor’s degree in journalism with a concentration in environmental journalism. During his time at MSU he worked as a reporter for the state news. He later worked as a city reporter for the Petoskey news-review in Petoskey, MI., and the Vindicator newspaper in Youngstown, Ohio. Paul earned a scholarship to the Thomas m. Cooley law school and earned his law degree with a concentration in environmental law. He interned, clerked, and worked as an attorney for the Liblang law firm, pc where he aided clients with consumer law – namely, lemon law, rebuilt auto wrecks, and wrongful debt collections.
Paul enjoys legal research and writing. He is a litigation attorney and his proudest moment is obtaining a multimillion dollar settlement for one of his clients injured in a catastrophic crash.
He is a music and movie buff, a fantasy sports nerd, and an MSU and Detroit sports fan. He recently started refinishing reclaimed live edge wood from around Michigan to make furniture. He and his wife Christine have three children, Lana, Finn, and Lucas. They enjoy cooking, traveling together, and kayaking.
