Rebekah Grafton
Former Trial Attorney for Dept of Homeland Security Now in Private Practice
Rebekah Grafton is a former trial attorney for the Department of Homeland Security in their Immigration and Customs Enforcement Division. She is prepared to put years of experience litigating on behalf of the government to work for you. She is not only skilled in the complicated nuances of immigration law, but in her unique experience she has also become well-versed in the policies that guide the filing of applications. She has prepared and argued written motions and memoranda at both the Immigration Court level as well as at the Board of Immigration Appeals. Additionally, she has worked closely with USCIS on visa issues, including family based petitions, employment based petitions, juvenile petitions, and visa petitions for victims of crimes. In 2017, Rebekah was named a “Leader in the Law” by North Carolina Lawyers Weekly and chaired the Immigration Webinar Series for the North Carolina Advocates for Justice.
She is licensed in Massachusetts and North Carolina.

- This 90-minute CLE will address the three Executive Orders relating to Immigration that have been signed by President Trump. The CLE will summarize the details of each of the three orders, including the order that contains the travel ban, the order that updates enforcement priorities for immigration, and the order that addresses concerns of security at the southern border. The CLE will focus on the impact the order relating to changing enforcement priorities may have on clients who are charged with criminal offenses, including discussion of potential increased use of 287(g) and the change back to Secured Communities. The CLE will conclude with practical tips for non-immigration practitioners who have non-citizen clients, including lawful permanent residents and steps that attorneys can take to help their non-citizen clients.
