Biography

Samuel grew up in South East Texas. He grew up in a very large family with 13 children. Samuel received his BS from Brigham Young University. Samuel graduated from the University of Houston Law School in 2004. Since then he has primarily practiced Social Security Disability Law, though he now also handles litigation. Samuel has personally represented thousands of clients trying to obtain disability benefits. Over his long career, Samuel has learned the art of oral advocacy. He has also learned what matters most in Social Security Disability cases. Most importantly he has come to love helping the families he serves.

Q. My ssi case went through determination and a decesion was made and now its in the review process, what does that mean..
A: I'll need a little more details to know for sure what the status of your case is. However, I can say that usually once a decision is made on your case, it is sent back to the SSA field office and they issue the decision letters in the mail. They typically won't give you the answer over the phone. In a small number of cases, once the decision is made, the case is picked up for "quality review." When a case goes to quality review, SSA will have a fresh set of eyes examine the decision process to ensure that everything was done correctly. Sometimes this review can overturn the previous decision.
