Sara Hashmi, PharmD, JD brings a unique skillset to our medical malpractice team with her over fifteen years of experience as a pharmacist with a top international retail pharmacy, including several years of managerial experience. This experience, combined with her background in defending medical malpractice cases, provides her a comprehensive perspective on medical and pharmaceutical negligence cases. She has recently expanded her practice to all injury cases, where her medical background will well-serve those clients who are injured as a result of the negligence of another company or individual.
Sara’s first career began when she obtained her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of Tennessee Health Sciences Center in Memphis, Tennessee. Her clinical rotations in her final year of pharmacy school exposed her to a broad array of medical specialties including infectious disease, toxicology, nephrology, cardiology and internal medicine, to name a few. After graduation, Sara decided to pursue her pharmacy career as a community pharmacist, starting at the ground level as a staff pharmacist in Memphis. She worked with patients daily regarding drug use, side effects, dosage and storing. She also worked with physicians advising them on the proper selection and use of medication with corresponding dosages. She moved to Texas, where she secured a staff pharmacist position and was quickly advanced to the position of pharmacy manager. As a manager she worked in all aspects of business operations including inventory management, employee relations, insurance adjudication, compliance and customer service. In addition, she has served as a pharmacy consultant to various outpatient centers regarding pharmacy related issues including drug retention, drug storage, inventory management, drug destruction, document retention and board compliance....
