Shawn McKenna represents parties in the litigation and resolution of matrimonial and family related matters. He handles all aspects of family law representation, such as dissolution, legal separation, pre- and post-nuptial agreements, child custody, visitation, support, property division and post-dissolution concerns.
Shawn McKenna began his career at the Law Office to Miriam Cooper & Associates in May of 2011. Prior to joining the firm, Mr. McKenna was the principal of the Law Office of Shawn McKenna, located in Chicago, Illinois. In 2010 Shawn received a Masters of Law (L.L.M), in Family Law, from Chicago-Kent Chicago Kent Law. In 2009, Shawn began a Masters of Law Program (L.L.M.), in Family Law, at Chicago-Kent College of Law; during this time he externed at Grund & Leavitt, P.C. and clerked for a highly respected Domestic Relations Judge in the Daley Center. In 2008, Shawn McKenna received a juris doctorate degree from Wayne State University, where he volunteered at the Free Legal Aid Clinic, representing people in poverty with family law matters. While in law school, Mr. McKenna participated in mock trials, he was a member of the National Mock Trial Team, and was awarded the Donald E. Barris Scholarship for his trial skills.
