Shea Ann Fugate
Shea Fugate is the founder and principal attorney at the Law Offices of Shea A. Fugate, P.A., located in Maitland and Orlando. Ms. Fugate concentrates her practice in the areas of disability law and elder law, helping the elderly and disabled in Florida plan for and receive appropriate care and benefits without depleting their vital financial resources.
Prior to becoming an attorney, Ms. Fugate worked for a disability law firm for seven years, serving as a social security disability (SSD) case manager and even writing appeals for the firm. This same firm later hired Ms. Fugate as an attorney, where she continued her focus on disability, including federal court appeals. Most disability lawyers are only familiar with the administrative side of SSD claims; few attorneys take the next step and fight SSD denials in court.
Ms. Fugate is a graduate of the University of Central Florida and the St. Thomas School of Law in Miami, where she graduated with honors. She was admitted to the Florida Bar in 1996 and is licensed to practice in all Florida state courts as well as the United States District Court for the Middle District of Florida and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit. She is additionally accredited by the Veteran’s Administration to practice before the Department of Veterans Affairs and the U.S. Court of Appeals for Veterans Claims.
Ms. Fugate has served as a seminar speaker on social security disability topics and is an active member of NOSSCR – the National Organization of Social Security Claimants’ Representatives. She has also given speeches and seminars on Medicaid Entitlement and various elder law topics. Ms. Fugate is a founding member of the National Alliance of Attorneys for Alzheimer’s Planning and a member of the Federal Bar Association.
